Nurturing curiosity, one experience at a time

We are committed to providing children with an experiential environment where they are encouraged to explore and develop their sense of curiosity.

Our Centre

Sr. Carmelina’s Preschool Academy is a private, Not-For-Profit Catholic preschool that nurtures academic development and personal growth. The preschool provides a sanctuary for children in the community and our childcare services promote the full potential to all our students.

Sr. Carmelina’s Preschool Academy operates in over 10,000 square feet of space in a quiet residential Woodbridge neighbourhood with onsite security and ample parking. Sr. Carmelina’s Preschool Academy is licensed provincially by the Ministry of Education and adheres to the policies of York Region Public Health and Vaughan Fire and Rescue.

Affordability

Our preschool is a participant in The Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care program (CWELCC) which aims to lower fees and provide accessible high-quality childcare for Ontario families.

Play-Based Learning

Our goal is to provide a caring, nurturing space that supports learning and early development through a play-based approach for children ages 18 months to 4.5 years.  Our play-based curriculum follows “How Does Learning Happen?” (HDLH) and incorporates the Montessori and Reggio Emilia methods.

We are dedicated to:

Encouraging cognitive growth by offering educational activities that match their developmental stage, free from undue pressure.

Nurturing spiritual growth in a Catholic environment where Bible stories, songs, and catechesis are integral to our program. Prayers before meals and Christian principles enrich our daily activities.

Fostering emotional health by boosting self-esteem and providing opportunities for success. Children are guided to express their emotions openly and respectfully, cultivating empathy for others.

Promoting physical well-being through the emphasis on healthy habits, regular exercise, and balanced nutrition.

Supporting social development by nurturing positive relationships with family, peers, and teachers. Group activities teach respect, cooperation, sharing, and care for others and their belongings.
